The Kingdom’s journey in serving pilgrims and Umrah performers began more than 92 years ago, thanks to the unwavering support of its wise leadership—may God protect them. This journey has witnessed continuous development, including the launch of numerous initiatives to regulate the sector and enhance the quality of services.

This has been achieved through the adoption of technology to improve performance, the application of quality standards and performance metrics, and raising the level of preparedness and increasing capacity to serve the guests of God in the Holy Sites.

The Kingdom has also not neglected people with disabilities. Many different services were provided to support them. Several initiatives were launched, including the National Initiative for Hajj for People with Disabilities. Many services were allocated for them in the holy sites, including shuttle buses between the Jamarat Bridge and the train stations, allowing for quick movement and easy access to perform the stoning ritual and return to the camps, among other services. Caring for people with disabilities is considered an important part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to empower different groups with special health and social circumstances who have never performed this great pillar of Islam before, according to standardized regulations and easily implemented criteria for them as pilgrims, enriching the religious and cultural experience of the guests of God.
